Is SimpliSafe worth the cost?
SimpliSafe’s equipment is reasonably priced, especially when purchased as a package. The company frequently offers anywhere from 40% to 60% off the price of its equipment bundles. Any time you’re able to secure your home for under a couple hundred dollars—which is fairly common for several of SimpliSafe’s packages—it’s quite a bargain.
SimpliSafe’s highest level of monitoring, interactive monitoring, is priced slightly above competitors’ prices. Their next tier of monitoring services is more affordable, but that doesn’t include features such as camera recordings or smart-home integration. SimpliSafe offers the first 30 days of interactive monitoring free.
How SimpliSafe stacks up on value
The home security industry rests on a wide spectrum when it comes to value. Some professionally installed systems, like Vivint and ADT, carry extremely high price tags, both up front and over the length of service. Many DIY brands, on the other hand, typically make protecting your home very affordable.
Even though SimpliSafe’s prices are similar to many of its DIY competitors, we were particularly impressed by the quality of its equipment and the large number of available bundles. So, for people looking for premium home security without paying a premium price, SimpliSafe stacks up very well indeed.
