Google Fiber has just two plans, each with clear, transparent pricing. You can get 1 gig for $70 or 2 gigs for $100. For most households, 1 gig is a ton of bandwidth, so paying $30 to double that almost certainly isn’t worth it.
Prices include all fees and equipment. The only other item on your bill will be sales taxes. You won’t even pay for installation or activation. Considering how complicated internet bills can get, we love Google Fiber’s simple approach.
We gave Google Fiber a 4 out of 5 for value, which means it’s a better deal than most companies offer. Given that you won’t see any hidden fees on top of your plan price, it’s an even better deal. However, most households don’t need a full gig of speed, and Google Fiber doesn’t offer anything slower—or cheaper.
Google’s prices are highly competitive for its speeds, but if you don’t need a full gig, you can probably find a cheaper plan elsewhere.

Google Fiber has no hidden fees. You won’t pay for equipment, which typically runs $10–$15 per month. Installation is free too, saving you $50–$100. There's no self installation option, but we're not too mad about that. The price you see when you order is the price you see on your bill, plus sales tax. But if you want to get a glimpse at all the fees you’re escaping from, check out our article on understanding your bill.
When you don’t have contracts or hidden fees, there’s not a lot of opportunity for deals and discounts. So there aren’t really any tricks to saving money with this provider.
We know. Snagging a sweet deal on internet can feel great. But we prefer Google Fiber’s straightforward pricing and contract-free service to playing the deals game.
Google Fiber doesn’t have bundles with other services. The company doesn’t offer TV, phone, or home security, which are common bundling options among other providers. But perhaps someday we’ll see bundles with Google Home, Google Nest, or Pixel smartphones.
Since Google Fiber doesn’t have contracts or hidden fees, canceling is easy and free. Just be prepared to return any equipment. You can even cancel online once you log into your account, which is a huge convenience that most internet providers don’t allow. You won’t have to fight off a retention specialist or resist any “can’t-miss” deals.
Google Fiber’s Affordable Connectivity program can save qualifying households up to $30 per month on their internet bill. But if you don’t need a gig, and you can find a cheaper plan from another provider that participates in this program, you could spend even less on internet. Just watch out for hidden fees with other providers!
