MaxxSouth has a variety of internet plans at great prices. If you’re used to putting up with a slow connection to minimize your costs, you’ll be impressed with this provider’s 150 Mbps plan, which costs around the same as a 50 Mbps plan elsewhere.
If you’re looking for crazy-fast internet (up to 10 Gigs!), you'll have to call MaxxSouth for pricing, because these plans aren't available to most households. Of course, 99.99% of people don’t need these speeds. But if you have a huge family and everyone wants to play Call of Duty while streaming HD movies in the background and listening in on company Zoom meetings and instantaneously uploading massive files—all using commercial-grade internet equipment—you’ll be more than set. (On a completely unrelated note: can we recommend a digital detox this weekend?)
We gave MaxxSouth 3.5 stars out of 5 for value because its prices are a bit better than average. You'll find the best price per Mbps of speed with this provider's slower plans, and its best deal is a 150 Mbps plan. Its 1-gig plans are still competitive, but extremely fast plans (anything 2 gigs or faster) will be less so, since you'll probably be paying for bandwidth you can't use.
Professional installation with MaxxSouth is way cheaper than most companies, but there's no self-setup option. Basic equipment is free (yay!), but if you add Wi-Fi gear, your cost comes back up to what competitors offer.

MaxxSouth earned 4 out of 5 stars for equipment and installation because you’ll spend less here than with other companies. In fact, you’ll get a free modem/router combo (often called a gateway). Adding Wi-Fi to your bill is a little more costly than with competitors, but it balances out with the cheaper gateway.
You’ll also get super cheap professional installation at just $20. The downside is that there’s no self installation option, so DIY-ers won’t get to save more.

MaxxSouth doesn’t have any deals or promotions right now. However, it sometimes offers limited-time promotions with lower monthly rates. The trade-off is usually having to sign a contract for the length of the promotion, which can vary.
In addition to internet, MaxxSouth offers TV and home phone, though there aren’t any bundles you can get to save money. However, MaxxSouth offers a free one-month trial of phone and TV service—as well as a free internet option (with limited functionality and in-browser ads).
In general, MaxxSouth doesn’t require a contract, though you may come across a limited-time promotion that locks you in for a specific number of months—and comes with early termination fees that vary by promotion. That means most people can cancel easily. The downside is that you have just five days to return (in person) any equipment you’re renting, compared to the 15–45 days most companies give you. And if you miss the five-day deadline, you’ll see a $160 equipment charge on your final bill, so no lollygagging!
MaxxSouth participates in the Affordable Connectivity Program, which helps low-income families save money on internet. With MaxxSouth, that means $30 off your monthly bill—and a one-time $100 credit to use toward a tablet, which you can buy at any MaxxSouth retail store.
